Assalamu alaikum, I'm Mohammed Daud, founder of Shine Arabic.
My own journey with Arabic began more than 25 years ago through traditional Islamic study, where I went on to complete both my Alimiyyah studies and Hifz of the Qur'an.
Since 2003, I've spent more than two decades teaching Arabic and Islamic studies, including teaching Arabic within a traditional Islamic seminary environment, before founding Shine Arabic in 2017 to bring serious Arabic learning to adults with very different lives and responsibilities.
My education didn't stop there. As an adult, while working and managing the responsibilities of family life, I spent around five years completing a Business degree through the Open University.
That experience gave me a perspective from both sides.
I know what serious, structured Islamic study can look like. But I also know what it feels like to return to education as a busy adult and try to make meaningful progress around work, family and everything else life brings.
And over the years of teaching busy Muslim professionals, I've noticed the same pattern again and again:
